ALL ABOUT THAT PLACE – SOCIETY OF GENEALOGISTS
I am very pleased to have been selected by the Society of Genealogists for their All About That Place programme. My talk, Behind the Bedside Curtain: Everyday Lives in St Audry’s Medical Records, explores the lives of former patients at St Audry’s Hospital in Suffolk through surviving medical records and extensive historical research. Rather than focusing solely on diagnoses and institutional practices, the talk examines the people behind the records, uncovering their family circumstances, life journeys, and personal experiences. By bringing these stories to light, it demonstrates that those who passed through the hospital were far more than entries in a register; they were individuals whose lives and experiences deserve to be remembered. RQG CONFERENCE 2026
I am delighted to be a speaker at this year’s RQG Genealogy Conference in Birmingham.

PAUPER GRAVES, ONEHOUSE, SUFFOLK
Uncovering the lost names of the people buried in Onehouse remains one of my greatest achievements. After successfully identifying 302 previously unknown records of paupers buried in the Pauper Burial Ground at Onehouse, Stow, I carried out detailed case studies on several of them, bringing their stories back into view after nearly two centuries.
I later presented this work to the Parish Council, and with the support of local councillors, enough funds were raised to create a permanent memorial. That monument now stands as a tribute to the lives of those who were once forgotten, ensuring their names and stories are preserved for future generations.
